ALASKA’S TOBACCO QUIT LINE WORKS

I just want to say thank you to all of you and the Alaska Tobacco Quit Line. The coaching and weekly check-ins has been so helpful for me, you don’t realize how important the support is until you have it. One of my coaches said, “Life is hard enough, you don’t have to make it harder.” [by smoking] And that really hit me because my entire family has it rough out here and we are just making it worse for ourselves by sitting here smoking. I want to be the first one to break free from that. Thank you.

Stay Holy apparel

A way to help you stay focus on your new venture without smokes is to change the way you look and the way you look at your self. try to stay holy and pure clean but not the same without shame and comdenment . Grow your faith and walk it out.....

Stay always reading the word of God. 1 Peter 1:13-16
Holiness.
It is a word that we do not use very often these days and when we do
it is generally in some context that we ourselves are not involved in. Such as;
God is Holy, Holy cow, or some other expression. However, today I want to
write a little about the notion that we, as Children of God are called to be Holy. It shouldn't feel like a task but more like a want as a part of the new changes that God is promoting in your heart. Believe it or not walking in faith or to put it better to be in God is amazing even though at the times when we are tested walking in this world of KAOS... But knowing that you serve a REAL GOD that lives and breathes just like you and me but much better is the reward.Jesus is the first and the last."I am the Iam" his own words.Fear nothing and persevere you will see .....

We are to give our best each and every day to be
obedient to God. 1 Peter 2:11-12 The hardest part to being holy is our nature
does not let us do it easily. Our nature is bad,as descendant of ADAM we to do the will of man, not God. But we
have the strength of God and the power of the Holy Spirit of  God with in all of us. 1 Peter 1:3-5 God
gives us what we need to be holy all the time specially when we need it the most. But as One said long ago, we must
make it a life of Christian principles and style  with a strong determination to be obedient to God's will and  by doing this we can take part and joy of His Grace yielding Love surrendering to The Lords Jesus laws and commandments. Three things will keep us VICTORIOUS  from losing this battle.
Learn the Word ,Love the Word ,Live the Word

It is all in the Word.

The Bible is its own interpreter and its own dictionary. It explains itself. The only way to be sure you are understanding it correctly is by testing every conclusion you come to against everything else the Bible says on that particular subject. The Bible does not contradict itself and it contains no errors. There may be errors in a particular translation but this is because the translators misunderstood what God intended to be said. As you read the Bible, if it appears that a contradiction is present, it is always an error in our understanding, not an error in the Bible. By comparing passages with similar language a person can find understanding because the Bible defines it's own terms. Once again, anyone truly seeking truth will realize this more and more as they read. This is the only way to be sure you are understanding the Bible correctly -- by using the Bible to explain the BibleAny other means of interpreting the Bible (by allowing some other person or some other book to explain the Bible for you) is not trustworthy. This web site will attempt to simply point out what the Bible actually says and let the Bible explain itself. Anyone who truly wants to understand must look up the Bible verses that will be provided. This is highly recommended to ensure that no verses are taken out of their context. If you should have questions or comments about what is said, or have need for additional verses.....

Does the Bible Say I Shouldn't Smoke?

Is it ok to smoke and live in Christ? What is the Bible's approach?
These is a group of questions that i found at CBN.com and they helped me a bunch. It wont hurt to educate one and other and help share the God's wisdom around...
While the Bible doesn't address the issue of smoking directly, you will find a number of biblical principles which apply to your smoking habit. The following study guide will help you discover these principles: ( You can Print this page and fill in the blanks)

1. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, God puts His Holy Spirit into you. Read 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.
a. According to this passage, how does God view your body?

b. How should you treat your body in light of this?

c. Considering what is known about the effects of smoking on your body, do you think smoking is in conflict with how you should treat your body?

2. Read Genesis 1:26.
a. What did God give man to rule over?

b. How does the earth's plant life fit into this plan? How can man "rule" over it? Where do you think the tobacco plant fits into this plan?

3. In 2 Peter 2:19, the Bible addresses the danger of false teachers who had given themselves to indulging fleshly appetites and were leading others into worldly behavior.
a. How does this verse describe someone who is controlled by something?

b. The nicotine found in cigarettes has been proven to be addictive. Therefore, based on this verse, how would you describe a habitual smoker's relationship to cigarettes?

c. How does this compare to the order God intended when He gave man rule over all the earth?

4. Read Ephesians 5:17. Based on the scientific evidence of the effects of smoking and your understanding of what the Bible says, what do you think God wants YOU to do about smoking?

5. If you believe that smoking is something that God wants you to stop doing, then it is a sin for you to smoke because you are doing something contrary to God's will. ReadRomans 6:12 and write what it means to you as far as smoking is concerned.

What Are God's Promises?
6. Cigarette addiction is one habit of this world that many people struggle with. Write in your own words the promises God gives you that will help you overcome the desire to smoke:
1 Corinthians 10:13

James 4:7

Philippians 4:13

7. One problem that concerns many smokers who want to quit is how the withdrawal will affect them emotionally. What promise does God give in Isaiah 26:3 to those who trust God?

What If I Need More Help?
8. Jesus acknowledged that people sometimes have difficulty doing what they know is the right thing to do. Read Matthew 26:41. What are two things He says to do?
a.

b.

9. Psalm 119:11 mentions something else that will give you strength. What is it?

Note: 1 John 2:17 and Philippians 4:13 are two good verses to "hide in your heart" (memorize them and then think about them if you feel the need to smoke). You will find many other verses that will help you grow strong in your walk with God.
10. Are you filled with God's Spirit? If you have made Jesus your Lord and Savior, ask God to FILL you with His Holy Spirit and to give you HIS power to do ALL that He wants you to do-not just to quit smoking. Read Luke 11:11-13 and Galatians 5:16. Write out your prayer for God's Spirit to fill you and give you the power to be free from cigarettes:

What If I Fail?
11. Read 1 John 1:9. This verse tells you how to face any failure you have in obeying the will of God.
Summarize this verse in your own words.

12. Follow up any failure you meet in obeying God's will with 2 Thessalonians 3:13. What's the nugget of wisdom in this verse?

why stop smoking?

The less easy part is in Kicking the Habit.

StrawberryNET Chinese Make up Banner 300x250Smokers may have started smoking because their friends did or because it seemed cool then you made it in to stress or any other lame excuse . But the Real reason of  continued smoking is because you became addicted to nicotine, one of the many chemicals in cigarettes and smokeless tobacco...ok so what is nicotine you may ask....
WIKKI Nicotine ,is both a stimulant and a depressant. this means it increases the heart rate at first and makes people feel more alert (like caffeine, another stimulant). Then it causes depression and fatigue. Nicotine is one of the most heavily used addictive drugs in the U.S., and the leading preventable cause of disease, disability, and death in the U.S. Cigarette smoking accounts for 90% of lung cancer cases in the U.S., and about 38,000 deaths per year can be attributed to secondhand smoke. Most cigarettes in the U.S. market today contain 10 milligrams (mg) or more of nicotine. The average smoker takes in 1 to 2 mg nicotine per cigarette when inhaling.
In 1989, the Surgeon General issued a report that cigarettes and other forms of tobacco, which contain nicotine (such as cigars, pipe tobacco and chewing tobacco) are addictive. The report also determined that smoking was a major cause of stroke as well as the third leading cause of death in the U.S.
Don't be discouraged millions of Americans have permanently quit smoking...
Please write it somewhere. People who want to make a change often are more successful when they put it in writing. So write down all the reasons why you want to quit smoking, such as the money you will save or the stamina you'll gain for you daily doings of life. Keep that list with you so you can see it, and add to it as you think of new reasons.

Think about your triggers or what reminds you to put that cancer stick in your mouth... You're probably aware of the situations when you tend to smoke more, such as after meals, when you're at your  friend's house party, while drinking coffee, or as you're driving or in a car as passenger . These situations may be some of your triggers for engaging in smoking — it may be like an automatic reaction to have a cigarette when you're doing these. Once you've figured or find out your triggers, give these a shot :
  •  Try to avoid at all cost these situations, and be conscientious about them. For example, if you smoke when you drive usually you roll down the window.in your mind you like to somewhat  kill your self slowly with no pain...there is feeling in Suffocation so window goes down without thinking....true or false.then be in the moment and keep your window up blast your A/c and say a little prayer trust me it will help.God never fails us that is a PROMISE you can also walk, or take the bus for a few days you will be ok have some faith. If you normally smoke after meals this is a not cool one to beat but possible in the name of JESUS, make a new healthy habit to do something else after you eat, like read a bible verse or call a church friend. The point is to break the old program or pattern after your meals.
  • Change the GAME or routine . If you and your friends always smoked outside restaurants while waiting , get takeout and eat in the car or home,
  • Make no more down time to " lite up" . usually when you have a job that you can't smoke at or a job or you need to take breaks to go smoke its an unpleasant thing so smoking at work is minimal which means that as soon as you get off you "lite up" or at home put your keys down after work and go"lite up".....Now its time to reprogram your brain.after work you know how to drive, windows sealed. at home just make an effort to just eat something lite not the usual( fruit or small salad).then nap or go to sleep if you work at nite like me.....ok let me add for those that have no a/c in their car that is no excuse just blast your radio and sing along....no radio whistle your drive home .....get it just change it up.
    • Substitute something else for cigarettes. It can be hard to get used to not holding something and having something in your mouth but thats all mental not true and not needed. If you have this problem you need to grow up and think about your love ones not only YOURSELF, stock up on carrot sticks, sugar-free gum, mints, toothpicks, or even lollipops and suck it up. Always remember  "I CAN DO AL THINGS THRU CHRIST WHO GIVES ME STRENGTH" Phillipians 4:13

Please get some kind of support. People whose friends and family help them quit are much more likely to succeed that is if you have some. If you don't want to tell your friends or family that you stop the smoke you need to move to a little island in the pacific.lol,be real to yourself at least  make sure your friends and people you hang out with all the time know, and consider a Professional counselor.Say all your friends smoke and none of them is interested in quitting then its time to reconsider your groups, you might want to consider joining a church support group, either in person or online. My personal experience has been a very revealing one. I have come to terms that there is no other way to life but thru the Wonderful name and person of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is as real as the words you just got done reading .Get close to him get to know him read his word in the bible create a new life time relationship with the GOD of Israel. He is the one that has always been watching over you giving  his grace and love, health and power and over all forgiveness.please pass it on. your body is not yours God gave you his breath of life to live his experience thru you.Your body is the temple of GOD. Believe and let him in he will start working in you to make you who he called you to bee.
